Betel leaves or paan patta are eulogized by ayurveda acharyas for their immense medicinal properties. Betel plant or Piper betle is a vine which belongs to Piperacea family. This vine has heart shaped leaves and is mostly grown in South East Asia.

Figs also known as Anjeer in India, belong to Mulberry family. Fresh fruits are lusciously sweet and crunchy seeds add to the taste. Dried figs are sweet and chewy. Dried ones are available throughout the year. This nutritious fruit is used as main ingredient in many sweet and spicy dishes. Texts of ayurveda refer to this fruit as FALGU or RAJAOUDUMBARA.
Tomato is an edible fruit and belongs to nightshade family or Solanaceae. It is almost sour to taste. Tomato is a rich source of vitamins (vitamins A and C), anti oxidants and folic acid. Tomatoes contain an important pigment “lycopene”. This pigment is responsible for red colour of tomatoes.
