Ksheerabala or Kshirabala Oil (Taila o Thailam)

This wonderful oil contains the herb Bala (Sida cordifolia) ( Ayurveda Medicinal properties of Bala (Sida Cordifolia) ),  Milk ( Ayurveda Health Benefits and Uses of Milk – Dos and Don’ts ) and pure sesame oil. ( Ayurveda Health Benefits of Sesame Seeds and Oil )  (Read Best ayurvedic massage oil for erectile dysfunction)

Sesame oil is known for its excellent medicinal benefits. It acts as a potent carrier for the biomolecules of herbs which are processed in this oil. Hence ayurveda acharyas always advice to consider sesame oil over other oils. While preparing ksheerabala oil for our patients and customers we adopt the following procedure. First sesame oil is processed with several herbs like triphala ( A combination of Amalaki or amla ( Ayurveda Medicinal Properties and Uses of Amla ), Haritaki ( Ayurveda Health Benefits and Medicinal Properties of Haritaki-Terminalia Chebula ) and Vibhitaki ( Health Benefits of Vibhitaki – Bibhitaki -Bahera -Terminalia Bellirica), musta or nagarmotha ( Ayurveda Health Benefits and Uses of Musta or Cyperus Rotundus ), lodhra ( Lodhra Symplocos Racemosa for Infertility, PCOS and Skin ) etc which help to remove its odour and increase its potency. This method is called as “murchana”. The oil gets a good fragrance and color after the process of murchana.

The paste and decoction of bala or Sida cordifolia , milk and water ( Water – the Elixir of Life- An Ayurveda View ) are added in required quantities to processed sesame oil. This mixture is boiled according to the guidelines given in ayurvedic pharmacology. The ksheerabala thailam or oil thus formed is filtered and stored in air tight containers. The fat soluble active principles of bala (Sida cordifolia ) get dissolved in sesame oil through this process.
